Dear teachers and colleagues,
the XXIV edition of the Week of the Italian Language in the World (SLIM), scheduled for October 14-20, is approaching and we are pleased to announce the release of the new contest dedicated to students of Italian in the New England consular district.
The SLIM 2024 theme is “Italian and the Book: the world between the lines”.
In the year in which Boston has been designated as the “Capital of Italian Creativity in the World”, we are asking school and college students to explore the nexus between language and literature by reading and interpreting in an original way some of the most interesting authors on the Italian publishing scene.
Entries will be judged by a panel of educational and performing arts experts, and will be awarded during the week dedicated to the Festival of Creativity to be held in Boston in November 20-24, 2024.
All schools and universities in Massachusetts, Maine, New Hampshire, Rhode Island and Vermont are invited to participate by unleashing their creative juices.
All participants will have a formal recognition from the Consulate General.
The deadline for submissions is Nov. 1st, 2024.
