The second day of STB DAYS in Boston was dedicated to Artificial Intelligence (AI), with a focus on the highly innovative ecosystem of Boston and New England, which hosts over 50 universities and more than 270 AI-focused companies. The meeting highlighted the academic and industrial excellence of the region, as well as opportunities for international collaboration. Italy is positioning itself decisively in the global AI race, investing in HPC infrastructures such as the pre-exascale system LEONARDO and developing national strategies for quantum computing and industrial AI. During the day, experts from MIT, Harvard University, and Italian companies presented innovative AI applications, ranging from systems for scientific research and personalized medicine to energy production and the management of complex data. The program included scientific forums, interviews with Italian entrepreneurs, and roundtables on the future of AI in society and business, concluding with networking and a light Italian dinner, thereby strengthening the links between research, industry, and innovation.
