NATIONAL SPACE DAY 2025 – 8 DECEMBER

On December 8, 2025, the Consulate General organized the event “Italy leads the manufacturing of the future European constellation with the Space Smart Factory in Rome,” a high-profile scientific and industrial gathering. The meeting centered on the new Space Smart Factory inaugurated in Rome by the President of the Republic, positioning Italy as a European leader in satellite production. Speeches by Giovanni Campolo (Senior Vice President of Thales Alenia Space Italy and Head of the Smart Factory), Prof. Edward Crawley (MIT AeroAstro, international expert in space systems), and remotely, Massimo Comparini (Head of Leonardo’s Space Division) offered insights on space cooperation opportunities between Italy, Europe, and the United States.

STB DAYS 2025 – 7/8/9 OCTOBER
From October 6 to 8, the Consulate General organized STB Days, three days dedicated to strategic sectors of scientific and economic relations between Italy and the United States: New Manufacturing, Artificial Intelligence, and Life Sciences.
Each day included an institutional opening session with representatives from the Massachusetts state government and the city of Boston, followed by thematic panels with speakers from universities, companies, and the financial sector, as well as structured networking sessions.
The presentations showcased research projects, entrepreneurial success stories, investment opportunities, and collaboration models between the two countries.
STB Days created a stable platform for dialogue between research, business, and finance, fostering new collaborations and strengthening Italy’s image as an innovative and reliable partner in advanced technology sectors.

On May 6, the Consulate General hosted the annual networking meeting dedicated to the Italian scientific and academic community active in New England.
Over a hundred professors from prestigious universities – including Harvard University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Northeastern University, Tufts University, Boston University, Boston College, University of Massachusetts, and Berklee College of Music – gathered at the Umbria restaurant in the historic North End district.
The initiative offered an important opportunity for dialogue, exchange of experiences, and strengthening ties among Italian scholars, creating an ideal bridge between historic Italian emigration and recent intellectual mobility.

RESEARCH DAY – 29 APRIL

On April 29, on the occasion of Italian Research Day in the World, the Consulate General hosted a meeting dedicated to the strategic role of the National Center for High Performance Computing, Big Data, and Quantum Computing, a pillar of Italy’s innovation ecosystem. The event, attended by over 100 participants, featured speeches by leading figures in academia and science: Prof. Antonio Zoccoli, President of the National Institute for Nuclear Physics (INFN) and of the National Center; Prof. Carlo Casciola from Sapienza University of Rome; Clara Andreoletti, CEO of Eni Next in Boston; and Prof. Tomaso Poggio of MIT, an international reference in artificial intelligence studies. The meeting highlighted Italy’s contribution to global innovation systems, with particular attention to the challenges and opportunities offered by supercomputing, big data, and artificial intelligence.

MADE IN ITALY DAY 2025 – 15 APRIL

On April 15, the Consulate General celebrated Made in Italy Day 2025 with an event focused on Italian innovation and entrepreneurship in the United States. Hosted at the Cambridge Innovation Center in collaboration with 42N Advisors, the initiative showcased five high-tech Italian startups to the American market: Ilios, Aizoon, Minerva, Remonitor, and Ferevet. Before an audience of entrepreneurs and investors, the companies presented a forward-looking Made in Italy, combining creativity, technology, sustainability, and strategic vision. The event provided a key opportunity for networking and dialogue between Italian and US innovation ecosystems, highlighting the talent and competitive capabilities of Italy’s new entrepreneurial ventures. BOCCONI CONNECTING MINDS – 3 APRIL

On April 3, the Consulate General hosted Bocconi Connecting Minds, a meeting focused on the value of education and the promotion of equal opportunities. In front of an audience of over 120 people, Bocconi University Rector Prof. Francesco Billari and Emilia Fazzalari – entrepreneur and philanthropist, founder of Cincoro Tequila with NBA legend Michael Jordan and wife of Wyc Grousbeck, owner of the Boston Celtics – presented a new scholarship project. The initiative provides full university funding at Bocconi for young female students from disadvantaged socio-economic backgrounds in Calabria. ITALIAN DESIGN DAY 2025 – 11 MARCH

On March 11, as part of Italian Design Day 2025, the Consulate General organized, in collaboration with Boston Architectural College (BAC), the seminar “Inequalities – how to mend fractures of humanity,” held in the historic Arcangelo Cascieri Hall. The event brought together over 100 participants, including academics, entrepreneurs, professionals, and students interested in architecture, design, and sustainability, reflecting on the role of design in reducing inequalities and repairing social fractures. Key speakers included Valerie Fletcher, Executive Director of the Institute for Human-Centered Design and BAC Trustee, and Lorenzo Imbesi, President of the Italian Society for Design and Cumulus Association, who traveled from Italy to initiate collaborations with local institutions. The discussion was moderated by Arch. David Manfredi, CEO and co-founder of Elkus Manfredi Architects and a leading figure in the Italian-American community, who led a dialogue with local designers and architects. The initiative confirmed the value of Italian design as a tool for cultural and social innovation in international dialogue. CAREERS 2025 – 4 MARCH

On March 4, the Consulate General hosted the fourth edition of “Careers,” a well-established event dedicated to orientation and networking for young Italians in the Boston area. The event featured 21 speakers from business, science, and academia, who shared professional experiences and practical advice with over 130 students from Italian university clubs, including Harvard University, MIT, Boston University, Tufts University, and Northeastern University. The 2025 edition was enriched by a performance from a band composed of Italian students from Berklee College of Music. Confirming the success of previous editions, Careers 2025 proved an important opportunity for connection between young Italian talent and Boston’s economic and social ecosystem, strengthening community ties and professional growth opportunities.
