The first day of STB DAYS, hosted by the Consulate General of Italy in Boston, was dedicated to New Manufacturing, a pathway integrating advanced technologies, digitalization, and innovative processes to transform industrial production into more agile, sustainable, and competitive systems. The meeting highlighted the strategic importance of strengthening industrial sovereignty in the West and Italy’s leadership role in the manufacturing sector. The day featured presentations by researchers from MIT and Harvard, as well as Italian and international companies, focusing on additive manufacturing, advanced materials, and smart factories. Among the most appreciated sessions, the science and technology forum showcased innovations for the space industry and the production of high-performance components. The day concluded with a business forum and an evening networking session, emphasizing the crucial contribution of investors and start-ups in accelerating innovation and maintaining Western competitiveness. .
