<\/td>\nOn December 3, 2025, the Consulate General hosted an event dedicated to the psychological support program initiated in Norcia after the 2016 earthquake by the Harvard MGH Italian Team, led by Prof. Richard Mollica of Massachusetts General Hospital.<\/p>\n
Developed over eight years with support from the National Italian American Foundation and the Italian National Trauma Center, the project represents an important example of international cooperation in mental health and community support following natural disasters.<\/p>\n
The central moment of the initiative was the presentation of \u201cThe Healing Court,\u201d a basketball court inaugurated in Norcia in September 2025 thanks to NBA Cares. The project involved prominent figures from the sports and philanthropic world, including Bob Delaney, NBA Cares Ambassador, and Wyc Grousbeck, owner of the Boston Celtics.<\/p>\n
The event, opened by a video message from the Extraordinary Commissioner for post-earthquake reconstruction 2016, Sen. Guido Castelli, highlighted the value of collaboration between institutions, civil society, and sports as tools for resilience, cohesion, and community rebirth.<\/p>\n
