{"id":526,"date":"2023-05-25T10:00:22","date_gmt":"2023-05-25T14:00:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/consboston.esteri.it\/servizi-consolari-e-visti\/servizi-per-il-cittadino-italiano\/stato-civile\/trascrizione-atto-di-matrimonio\/"},"modified":"2024-03-27T11:12:04","modified_gmt":"2024-03-27T15:12:04","slug":"trascrizione-atto-di-matrimonio","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/consboston.esteri.it\/en\/servizi-consolari-e-visti\/servizi-per-il-cittadino-italiano\/stato-civile\/trascrizione-atto-di-matrimonio\/","title":{"rendered":"Register a marriage certificate"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Registration of a marriage that occurred in the territorial jurisdiction of this Consulate General &#8211; Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island and Vermont.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Please note: If it is not the first marriage, all previous marriage certificates and subsequent divorce documents must also be submitted.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The following documents must be provided to this Office:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Certified copy of the marriage certificate;<\/li>\n<li>Apostille from the Secretary of State to be attached to the certified copy of the marriage certificate;<\/li>\n<li>Translation in Italian language of the marriage certificate;\n<ul>\n<li>Vital records certificates (birth, marriage, civil union and death) can be translated by the applicant if the translation follows the following guidelines, alternatively a professional translator must be hired.<\/li>\n<li>Translation guidelines:\n<ul>\n<li>Translations must contain all information present in the original certificate, all date formats must be (dd\/mmm\/yyyy);<\/li>\n<li>Translations must be done according to the original including all information present which must be factual, interpretations are not accepted;<\/li>\n<li>Translations must be typed, handwritten translations will not be accepted.
