FUNDING FOR ITALIAN LANGUAGE POSITIONS &#8211; A.Y. 2026-27<\/strong><\/button><\/h4>\n<h4><strong>K\u201312 SCHOOLS \u2013 F<\/strong><strong>UNDING FOR ITALIAN LANGUAGE POSITIONS <\/strong><strong>(A.Y. 2026\u201327)<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation has published the call for applications for the allocation of grants to support Italian language teaching positions in schools within the consular district (MA, ME, NH, RI, VT). These grants are intended to partially cover the salaries of teachers hired directly by the schools under local contracts.<\/p>\n<p>Alternatively, funding may also be granted to partially support scholarships and study trips to Italy for students who have successfully completed Italian language and culture courses.<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Application deadline: April 3, 2026<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Schools interested in applying for a grant should submit their application using the appropriate forms (<strong>All. A<\/strong> <strong>for teaching positions<\/strong> and <strong>All. B for study trips to Italy<\/strong>). Applications must be submitted through the Consulate\u2019s Education Office no later than April 3, 2026.<\/p>\n<p><strong>INSTRUCTIONS FOR SUBMITTING APPLICATIONS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The application forms (All. A and All. B), as well as the reporting forms for previously awarded grants (All. A\/2 and All. B\/2), must be signed by the Principal\/legal representative. The signature must be uploaded in JPEG format.<\/p>\n<p>Please note that to ensure full functionality of the editable PDF format, the forms must be opened using Adobe, Internet Explorer, or Edge. Only applications submitted using properly completed editable PDF forms will be accepted.<\/p>\n<p><strong>REQUIREMENTS FOR SCHOOLS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The application must include the following documents, to be submitted to the Consulate General of Italy in Boston <strong>by April 3, 2026<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>MOTIVATION LETTER<\/strong>, written in Italian, including the school\u2019s identifying information (name, address, contact details) and a detailed motivation for the request, signed by the Principal\/legal representative.<\/li>\n<li><strong>APPLICATION FORM (All. A or All. B)<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Applications must be completed using the editable form \u201cAll. A\u201d for teaching positions, and \u201cAll. B\u201d for requests related to scholarships or study trips to Italy, also dated and signed by the Principal\/legal representative.<\/p>\n<p>The exchange rate to be used for All. A and All. B is:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>\u20ac1.00 = $1.1631<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Evaluation criteria are outlined in the decree (DD 4100\/20) and can be consulted in the attached Excel evaluation grid.<\/p>\n<p><strong>FINAL REPORT FORM (All. A\/2 \u2013 All. B\/2)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>All schools that have previously received funding for the 2025\/26 academic year or earlier must submit final report forms and financial reports on the use of the most recent grant, using:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A2 (for teaching positions)<\/li>\n<li>B2\u201d (for study trips to Italy)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Please note that submission of reporting documentation is not only a requirement for receiving new funding, but also a mandatory obligation for all foreign institutions that have received grants within the previous five years, regardless of whether a new application is submitted. edition of the <strong>Week of the Italian Language in the World (SLIM)<\/strong>, scheduled for <strong>October 13\u201319<\/strong>, is approaching and we are pleased to announce the release of the new <strong>contest<\/strong> dedicated to learners of Italian throughout the New England consular district.<\/p>\n<p>The <strong>SLIM 2025 theme<\/strong> is:<br \/>\n<strong>\u201cItalophonia: Language Beyond Borders.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>We are asking schools and college students to explore the linguistic, cultural, and social dimensions of Italian, by imagining a new community of These grants are aimed at the\u00a0<strong>promotion of Italian language and culture<\/strong>\u00a0exclusively in primary and secondary schools. The grants contribute to the payment of\u00a0<strong>teachers\u2019 salaries<\/strong>\u00a0hired under local law,\u00a0<strong>scholarships and study trips to Italy<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Schools interested in competing and subsequently submitting their application for grants, will have to submit their request through the Education Office at the Consulate General of Italy in Boston no later than\u00a0<strong>March 21<sup>st<\/sup> 2025.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>INSTRUCTIONS FOR SUBMITTING A FUNDING REQUEST<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Schools must submit the following forms to the Education Office of the Consulate General of Italy in Boston.<strong> The forms are in editable PDF format to facilitate data entry, to allow the Legal Representative of the requesting school to upload their signature (in jpeg format), the Consulate to insert the stamp (in jpeg format) and its digital signature.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>To ensure full functionality of the editable PDF format you will need to open attachments using Adobe, Internet Explorer or Edge.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Only applications that are filled out in the editable PDF format will be accepted<\/u><\/strong><strong>.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>REQUIREMENTS FOR SCHOOLS<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>LETTER OF REQUEST<\/strong>, written in Italian, on the School\u2019s headed paper containing the school\u2019s identifying details (name, address, contact information) with the motivation for the request, signed by the Principal or Head of Department.<\/li>\n<li><strong>APPLICATION FORM (ALL. A&#8221;<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Requests for <strong>scholarships\/study trips to Italy<\/strong> must be submitted using <strong>editable form &#8220;ALL. B&#8221;<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"0\" data-end=\"94\">In this case, when filling out All. A or B, schools must use the following exchange rate:<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"96\" data-end=\"129\" data-is-last-node=\"\" data-is-only-node=\"\">\u20ac1.00 = $1.0983<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>FINAL REPORT FORM (ALL. B\/2)<\/strong>:<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>All Schools that have previously benefited from contributions under Chapter 2619, Management Plan 2, must submit the final report and financial statements regarding the use of the most recent contribution received.<\/p>\n<p>Schools should use the editable forms <strong>&#8220;All. A\/2&#8221;<\/strong> for contributions received for the creation and operation of Italian language teaching positions, and\/or <strong>&#8220;All. Management plan 2.<\/p>\n<p>These grants are for the creation and operation of chairs\/professorships\/lectureships of Italian language at foreign universities and are intended for the partial coverage of the remuneration of teachers hired by universities under local law contracts. The term \u201ccattedra\u201d i. e. chairs\/professorships\/lectureships means positions and\/or courses in universities, in which the Italian language is among the languages taught, according to the regulations of the institution concerned, even if the position or course has a different denomination. These grants are intended for the partial contribution to the payment of the Italian position. At the end of the tour, each student is also given a voucher for a\u00a0food\u00a0tasting\u00a0on site.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Through an application process, the\u00a0Consulate\u00a0will offer this study tour experience to\u00a0<strong>three groups of Italian students<\/strong>, of about 40 each, to be carried out by December 2024.
