The Consul General

Nicola De Santis was born in Salerno, Italy, on May 15th, 1969. He received a Law degree from the University of Salerno in 1995. In 1999 he entered the diplomatic career at the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

His first assignment was at the Directorate for Human Resources at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He was then appointed as Consul at the Italian Consulate in Detroit from 2002 to 2006. In 2006 he was appointed as ‘Head of Section’ at the Commercial and Economic Section of the Italian Embassy in Caracas (Venezuela). In 2009 he returned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Rome at the Directorate for Resources and Innovation.

On August 25th 2014 he began his mandate as Consul General of Italy in Boston with the jurisdiction for the states of Massachusetts, Maine, Vermont, Rhode Island and New Hampshire.

He is married with three children. He fluently speaks English, French and Spanish.
