Natural child recognition

Recognition can be made either by judgment or by administrative measure. Recognition made abroad is also valid in Italy if it complies with the conditions stipulated by Italian law (art. 250 et seq. civil code). For the purpose of transcription in Italy, the full copy of the birth certificate, with marginal notations of recognition, duly legalized and translated, must be produced, and not a simple certificate. In cases where the foreign system does not provide for the issuance of the full copy, a certificate containing the annotation of the recognition already made with the local authorities may be submitted.
